Mid 1930s Cottagecore Style Bookcase

(Pics include before photos). A gorgeous mid 1930s bookcase. Hand-painted with my original wisteria artwork to both side pieces. It was also missing a little ‘foot’, so I crafted another, and now it’s complete :-).
Revealing the wood grain on this piece after removing the old finish, was just delightful - hence letting it shine.
Inspiration for artwork: I always stop and admire wisteria when it’s in bloom - glorious! Asides from actual wisteria, this piece was inspired by a vintage Laura Ashley dress. It wasn’t so much the colour or print, but more the style and vibe - puffed shoulder / sleeve, with a rural feel. So in my head, I saw the cut out section on the backpiece of the bookcase as the ‘neck’, and the curved top sections of each side piece as ‘shoulders and sleeves’ (represented by the leaves and wisteria). So, the whole piece is an abstract dress.
I have also added a touch of violet in each corner of the shelf edges for continuity of the wisteria and to add interest when viewing from the front.

PROCESS HIGHLIGHTS:
🔶 Whole piece cleaned inside and out - old finish removed

🔶 Replacement foot piece crafted and attached
🔶 Art work applied to both side pieces
🔶 Dash of violet applied to each shelf edge corners
🔶 Backpiece - oiled, waxed then buffed
🔶 Exposed wood and artwork sealed, waxed then buffed

I always use reputable and experienced delivery companies, with appropriately equipped transportation for my furniture pieces.
Local delivery is free for orders over £500 to addresses within 20 miles of Annie Eclectic Studio.

I accept returns within a 14 day period, for a full refund. Please be aware, incurred delivery costs including return delivery, will not be refunded.
Should an item be returned, the original courier company must be used, and the item must be delivered in its original packaging. The item will then be inspected upon its return for any damage before a refund can be issued.
In the unlikely and unfortunate event your item arrives damaged, please contact me within 24 hours of delivery. I advise, where possible, to inspect the item upon arrival, whilst the courier is still present.
My items are packaged extremely sufficiently. The whole piece (including underneath) is protected using layers of bubble wrap, packing paper and cardboard, secured firmly with packing tape.
As a further precaution, I take photos of my items before, during and after packaging, as proof of condition before they’re collected for delivery.
